IT BRINGS ME GREAT JOY WHEN I KNOW I AM HELPING OTHERS
1. Get out of the habit of nibbling while preparing food. You can make an exception when working with low calorie vegetables, but most other foods and drink can add up to several hundred calories. Pretend there is a computer in your stomach and it announces the calories as you eat. Example: "27....42.....8....32.....4.....4....4." That totals 121 calories in18 seconds.
Hint: I enjoy drinking plain iced tea or ice water while I prepare food. My sister chews sugar free gum and it works very well for her. Another idea is to use breath spray to avoid eating as you cook.
2. Find some exercises that you enjoy and try to do them between 4 and 7 times a week. The RIGHT exercises are good for your health; especially for your mobility.
Note: Do not overdo if it is hard on your joints
3. If you have a hearty lunch, opt for a salad for dinner. If that seems a little too light for you, add a portion of fruit or a half of an English muffin and a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese
4. Each day that you stay on your diet (I MEAN REALLY STAY ON) brings you closer to your goal weight.
5. WOW: The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.
