TEMPTATION 'SNEAKS' UP ON US WHEN WE LEAST SUSPECT IT TO. YOU MAY RECOGNIZE SOME OF YOUR PROBLEMS WITH OVEREATING WHEN YOU READ THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL AND IT SHOULD HELP YOU.
1. Don't listen to hunger pangs. We are often not even hungry when we get an 'edgy, I want something to eat' feeling. How long does it last? Usually about 7 minutes. The following scenario gives an example: The phone rings and all of a sudden you forget about food, especially if you are listening to some interesting gossip.
2. If you eat very little for lunch because you are going to a dinner party that night, try having a filling low calorie snack. One or two Wassa Bread with a Laughing Cow cheese might fill the bill. Arriving at a party hungry is like an accident waiting to happen.
3. If you want a second portion at dinner, settle for one portion of something low in calories similar to extra vegetables or half of a roasted chicken breast without skin.
4. Don't overwhelm yourself with restrictions or unrealistic goals like the following examples.
a. I won't buy bread that is over 40 calories a slice..
b. I will put only one thin slice of turkey in my sandwiches with lettuce and a teaspoon of fat free mayonnaise.
c. I will lose at least 20 pounds the first month. .
