
RICE KRISPIES LOSES.......WHEATIES WINS
My husband Hugh, the Texan, had been choosing Rice Krispies as his before- bedtime snack rather than the much healthier Shredded Wheat Spoon Size Wheat'n Bran that was on the same shelf. When I asked him why he avoided eating them he said that they were tasteless.
At the market the other day Wheaties, an old favorite of mine that calls itself, 'The Breakfast of Champions' smiled at me and asked, "Why not try me?" I usually do not eat cereal but tried these and I do not like it, I love it! It may be my imagination, but it has a great crunch and flavor that I do not remember from the last time I tasted it about 10 years ago. It tastes a little sweet, but only has 4 g of sugars which is the equivalent of 1 teaspoon.
I enjoy eating a cup of the Wheaties most afternoons as a healthy snack with 1/2 cup of skim milk. Keep in mind that I am not dieting to lose weight. The calorie count is 133 calories for the cereal and 45 for the milk.
